What I want my parents to know!

We all are getting ready for back to school.  I am constantly on Facebook, twitter, Pinterest, tumbler and other social media looking for the latest research on what is going to make my school year easier or what is the cutting edge technology.
I found this blog that said what I wish my parents would read.  They will never se this.  It shows what teachers go through during the summer.  I will share it with you.  Maybe all of my ten readers will see it.  Haha. But it is worth sharing.

I hope you will read and know this is what I want parents to understand.  Pass this along.  Especially if you have a bigger audience than me!

Two new cats?

Adeline was getting bored...gidget moved out so what were we to do?  We adopted two new cats!

Yes loralaie and Luke have moved in.  I named them from my favorite show the Gilmore girls.  They were from the humane society, brother and sister.  I just could not resist.  Such a pair.   The girl is the outgoing of the two and the boy is reserved.  Just like Luke.  Lol.

Loralaie climbs in drawers cabinets and on top of boxes in the garage.  Luke hides from everything.
Luke is the observer, the thinker.

At any rate they are a welcome addition to our family of dog frogs turtles chickens and now cats.
Welcome to the Tucker's.

A new edition to our family...

New Kitty In The House!

The past few months have been rough for our family.  We lost two of our pets.  My beautiful Tatum died all of a sudden without warning. She was very loved.  The chair she was in was bought specifically for her.  Yes she was spoiled like a child.

A few week later my daughter childhood cat died.  She too was unexpected.  Both animals were not extremely old.

Paisley was our very fat kitty.  We loved her very much.  She was the silent leader if the group.  We also have a German Shephard and chickens.  They all at one time have tried to run the cat around. She lays there and gives them the stare.  It is quite comical.  She and Tatum are missed.

We have finally decided to get a new kitty.  She is spunky.  I think she will live up to Paisley.   Her name is Gigit.

She is learning her new environment and how to jump.  She is won't be here long because her new home is with my daughter in her new house...so I will enjoy her while I can!

Manicure continued...

Sorry for the delayed post.  I have tried a few more types of polish hand manicures.
The last post I tried my own gel manicure. It was not successful.  It lasted about 4-5 days. It lifted around the edges and pealed.

I went  with my daughter to the nail salon and she got her nails done.   These are her gel nail polish on day 12!  No chipping, pealing, and in perfect condition.  The cost was $30.  I think this is the best way to go.  Since we are still testing different polish...more to come

The perfect manicure...

I am always on the hunt for the perfect polish and fun colors.  This summer my daughter is getting married so I am looking for a neutral color and one that last.  So, the hunt is on.  I have read many blogs and tried many suggestions. I enjoy doing my own nails so I really don't want to go to the salon.  With that being said, this week I am trying Nutra Nail Gel.  The box says sheer pink, but it looks beige.

I am very hopeful on how long it last.  It went on very easy and dried fast.  It is not thick.  Very smooth and has a wet finish.  Since I am on spring break this would be the week to test it out.  I will keep you posted.
The most impressive is the cost!  Less than 10.00

Technology based learning

My students are spoiled with technology.  But is that a bad thing?  We start our day with our announcements on the computer.  I send my morning "to do" list to them in the form of a rap using an app that they can listen to on their on device.  They watch a video to activate our daily lesson essential question and send me a email when they have finished their research.  I can provide immediate feedback on their work.

Here students are using an iPad to look for information on one of Newtons laws.  They are actively in charge of their learning. I am clearly the facilitator.  When finished they can choose a creative way to share their work.  Students have used stop motion to create a movie or slide share to display facts for future classes.
So if they are spoiled using technology, I say good for them!  They are highly intelligent students who can find information and relate it to real word examples.  They can create their own work from knowledge gained.  Ask them a question and be prepared to be amazed.

Weekend get away

All the rain and snow was just about to drive me crazy!   We had a few days of nice weather and then it comes again. It just seemed the perfect time for a weekend get away.  And it just so happened my best friend got married, at the beach.  Perfect timing.

The weather turned out to be perfect.  The morning started out great and I had to start my morning with an ice coffee on the beach.   It was still cool for a swim but what a great view.

No trip is ever complete without a little shopping... I just had to add the kate Spade bow to my bangle collection.  The other kate was lonely.  Ha.  Back to the real world tomorrow...but the weekend makes it better!
