What a long HOT Week...

As I started my week cleaning carpets in what felt like 100 degree weather, I knew it was going to be a long week.  The summer for me is coming to an end. This is a short summer.  As our state voted for us to have a furlough, many teachers will head back early to get their classrooms ready. I am not any different.  I went to school Monday and got my carpets, rented a rug doctor and went to work.  Little did I know how HOT is was going to be.  Thank goodness my daughter was willing to help so it cut down tremendously on our time in the sun/heat.

  Tuesday we went back to school to put the rugs down and organize the desk.  I have my desk arranged in table with buckets in the middle. I have gone back and put table cloths on each group.  It looks really cute.  I have four groups of six kids.

This will be a Math/Science Center where students can work in groups.

In the hall my daughter worked on my bulletin board for me. I says Mrs. Tucker's Reef...

By the end of the week we were tired and slept until 10:00am on Friday! ha-ha.  I hope my students enjoy our beach themed room this year.  We have murals up, lanterns hanging from the ceiling and my desk has a grass skirt around it.  I have flip flops for a word wall.  I'll take more pictures and post after the 4 day furlough is over.  Our district will be shut down and the buildings closed.  Besides not being paid, it will be a nice break.  I would definitely over work.

We have been going to Kiawah for 18 years and it is nice that they have built The Sanctuary.  Kiawah is one of those places that is quiet and relaxing but has everything you need. 

This is home away from home to us. As we pack this year we pray for those in Alabama, and in The Gulf. We treasure our East Coast of SC and hope the oil does not reach us.  This is such sad times I hope we all find comfort. God Bless.

I am so Lilly poor right now, I do not need to read another blog, facebook posting or see a Lilly store! I am trying to save for the Fall line. Have you seen it. OMG it is to die for.

Hope everyone is cooling in the favorite Lilly today. I am bumming in just a T, but it is a Lilly. That is my goal to wear Lilly every day! Cannot wait for yoga wear this Fall.

2000 + Uses for WD- 40

When I was growing up my mom always kept my dads can of rusted WD-40 in the house! Gross.  She used it for everything from opening jars to squeeky doors to rusted screws on toys.  Then on day I got blood on my favorite doll from where I fell. I cried and cried. So she said well lets get the WD-40. I remember being horrified. I told her I would keep the blood. But it got the blood out! As I got older, in high school I became quite the science qeek and could not figure why it worked!!! 

Well on twitter this morning another blogger ask how to get out an ink spot. Of course I was quick to say WD-40! LOL   Then I thought why not google it.  Guess what?  There is a web site.
